Senior Manager DWH

We are looking for a colleague who can not only efficiently design and deliver data solutions but also support and motivate the data team.

Mission

The goal is to overtake the DWH team (currently 20 ppl, long-term goal 30 ppl) and act as a business unit manager responsible for P&L, business development, and strategy.

First goals

  • Get to know the current clients and projects
  • Identify business opportunities with current clients and how we want to utilize them
  • Setting the structure of the team
  • Setting up cooperation with our sales team and defining business development strategy
  • Revenue management

Job description

  • Designing the architecture of large-scale data solutions and actively participating in project delivery.
  • Collaborating with the Data Director to define the architecture and strategy for the data department.
  • Leading the team of data specialists, including mentoring, training, and developing team members.
  • Actively participating in business development activities, including discussions with clients, presales talks, delivering presentations/workshops, and bid management. 
  • Project and delivery management related to data architecture and data warehouse projects, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
  • Supporting and motivating the team to achieve top performance, building a positive team culture, and ensuring high levels of engagement.
  • Collaborating with other teams and departments, providing expert consultations, and supporting data-driven decision-making.
  • Clearly and effectively communicating technical concepts and strategies.
  • Making quick and informed decisions, handling crisis situations, and solving problems efficiently.
  • Providing expert advice and recommendations to clients or internal stakeholders regarding data architecture and data warehouses.

Required qualifications

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of DWH technologies and platforms
  • Experience with ETL tools
  • Knowledge of database systems (e.g., MSSQL Server, Oracle) and data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or Cloudera
  • Ability in data modeling and database design
  • Capability to bring innovative ideas to the team and clients, staying updated with technological advancements, and willingness to advance skills

Experience and Education:

  • At least 5 years of experience in data architecture and DWH
  • Experience in IT supplier companies, preferably focused on the financial sector or automotive industry
  • Proven experience in team leadership and project management

Soft Skills:

  • Strong leadership and managerial abilities
  • Excellent communication, consulting, and presentation skills
  • Drive for results and passion for Data
