We are looking for an experienced Product Owner to work on a transformational project for a global leading insurer who will take ownership of the product vision, strategy, value proposition and backlog prioritization/management, and of making sure the team delivers solutions with real business value.
If you can bring together business needs, product thinking and effective IT delivery steering, this can be a perfect fit for you.
Job description
- You will help shape the product vision, strategy and roadmap and contribute to release planning – rolling out solutions for Retail, SMB and Claims domains for our client’s operating entities across the world.
- You will take ownership of the product backlog and prioritise it according to business value.
- You will translate business needs into epics, features, user stories and clear acceptance criteria.
- You will connect stakeholders, business and development teams and ensure they work together effectively.
- You will make decisions on priorities, risks, dependencies and the scope of solutions.
- You will track product results, evaluate the impact of individual initiatives and continuously optimise priorities.
- You will contribute to the continuous improvement of both the product and the way the team works.
- You will be actively using modern AI tools in your day-to-day work.
- You will facilitate discussions with business and IT stakeholders, including senior management, and resolve competing priorities.
- You will coordinate multiple stakeholders and delivery teams and proactively manage cross-team dependencies, risks and blockers.
Required qualifications
We are looking for someone who can find their way around a complex global environment, with multiple stakeholders and globally distributed delivery teams. Someone who consistently stands behind their priorities and at the same time finds common ground with both business and IT delivery teams.
Mandatory requirements:
- 3–5 years of experience in Product Ownership, Product Management or Delivery Management, including ownership and delivery of a product, product area or complex business capability.
- Deep insurance domain knowledge with hands-on experience of Retail, SMB or Claims processes.
- Proven experience of driving delivery in complex, changing environments and of making informed trade-offs between business value, scope, quality and delivery capacity.
- Hands-on experience with backlog ownership and prioritisation, and with delivering business solutions in JIRA (epics, stories) and Confluence.
- Experience working in an environment with multiple stakeholders, competing priorities and cross-team dependencies.
- Strong ownership, stakeholder management, communication, negotiation and presentation skills, including with senior management.
- The ability to decide and prioritise independently, and to stay structured under ambiguity and time pressure.
- Hands-on experience with AI tools, especially Claude: a minimum of 30 hours of real project usage (not chatting), plus one example you can walk us through – including how you handled the problems you ran into.
- Solid AI competency: framing tasks and prompting (examples, step-by-step reasoning), working with Claude.ai and the CLI, disciplined context and memory management, understanding of model differences, and the ability to recognise hallucinations and knowledge-cut-off limits.
- A proven engagement history and at least one personal project you can present during the interview.
- English at C1 level as a minimum.
Nice to have (pluses):
- English at C2 level.
- Previous experience delivering for a large international insurance group, ideally within the client’s own technology organisation.
- Experience across more than one of the Retail, SMB and Claims domains.
- Experience of globally distributed, multi-market delivery and of scaled agile frameworks such as SAFe.
- Familiarity with GitHub-based ways of working.
- Deeper AI delivery experience – automated workflows, subagents, MCP servers or document pipelines built with Claude.
- Experience coaching or mentoring Product Owners and building up product ownership practices.
What are we offering
- A transformational programme for one of the world’s leading insurers – real scope, real decisions and visible impact on the product.
- International exposure: you will work with business and delivery teams across several countries and markets, with the opportunity to travel to client sites and meet your stakeholders in person.
- Room to grow into a wider product portfolio and to shape product ownership standards, not just run a backlog.
- An AI-first way of working – Claude and modern AI tooling are part of the everyday job, not a side experiment.
- A community of senior experts around you, plus mentoring, certifications and a personal development budget.
- Long-term project stability with the variety of a consulting career.
